THE TOURNOI DE VILLEMOMBLE IN FEW WORDS


For the 14th year, the Villemomble fencing club organizes the Tournoi de Villemomble, one of the events of the Handisport Fencing circuit event on two weapons Epée and Foil. This competition is qualifying for the French championships and is one of the national classification handisport event. It's also the most important Disabled-Valid International Fencing Competition in Europe.

With around 170 disabled and valid, Men and Women, fencers coming from all over the world, the Tournoi de Villemomble includes the following categories:

> Seniors, Juniors Disabled & Valid Men in wheelchairs

> Seniors, Juniors Disabled & Valid Ladies in wheelchairs

In the same time, we organize together with the fencing commission of the French Disabled Federation, a Sword competition for Hopes & Novices fencers, with same level as French Championship. This event which is bigger and bigger, makes it possible to bring the novices to the competition and to detect the future Hopes of the French disable-fencing.

AN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION


First French, the Tournoi de Villemomble became international since 2009. After the European nations, the borders of the old continent have been surpassed since 2011 by hosting Tunisia, Lebanon, Turkey and Algeria.

The Tournoi de Villemomble is now the biggest European Disabled & Valid Fencing event where the world's best Paralympic Fencers meet each year.
Through the editions, we have welcomed the following nations.

For the 14th edition, we wish to welcome other big fencing nations: Hong-Kong, USA and Iraq. We aim to become the biggest rendez-vous of wheelchair disabled-valid fencing in the world.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE CHALLENGE


1.
Confirm the Tournoi de Villemomble as the international referenced competition.

2.
Receive 200 participants

• 65 swordsmen of which 50 disabled
• 25 swordswomen of which 15 disabled
• 20 hopes and Novices (sword)
• 65 masculine foilists of which 50 disabled
• 25 women foilists of which 15 disabled

3.
Welcome 15 nations

4.
Receive 10 paralympic medalists

The Hopes & Novices Competition will be held on Saturday. The finales and award ceremonies will be held with the senior ones.

This year, in order to allow each delegation and no parisian fencers to visit Paris, there will be no dinner on saturday and everyone will be free after the cocktail.

THE ENDOWMENT


The Tournoi de Villemomble, Juniors & Seniors, will be endowed with 4000 € in prizes.

 

Each day
The 3 firsts in each arm are rewarded
The best B in each arm is rewarded

On both days
The winner of Tournoi de Villemomble will be the fencer (man or woman)
who will have the highest number of points (Sword + Foil).

Rewards are not cumulative.

For the score calculation, the formula will be the following one.


THE LOCATION


Salle polyvalente Paul Delouvrier 33 à 35 route de Noisy 93250 Villemomble (France)

Villemomble is located 15 km from the city of Paris, 15 km from the Roissy Charles de Gaulle International Airport, accessible from highways A3 and A86. We will provide transportation from the Airport or Station to your hotel as well as to and from the fencing installations.



SET-UP


22 slopes will be installed to assure a maximum of comfort for all fencers, disabled as well as valid.

A free shuttles service is offered to all participants to connect Paris railways/airports, hotels and fencing complex during the 4 days:

Friday: Paris railways/airports > hotels
Saturday: Hotels <> Fencing complex + Fencing complex > Paris railways/airports for those who go back on saturday
Sunday: Hotels <> Fencing complex + Fencing complex > Paris railways/airports for those who go back on sunday
Monday: hotels > Paris railways/airports
